This version brings some improvements in the "Play Mode" screen (on dials and pilot ID), and some fixes.

ReplyDeleteAny, chance that when AMG will release ROAD/FocusBump/FireRange0 rules in a few month (and make like they just said yesterday a massive points update, ban cards, kills the Hyperspace format, etc...), you can keep side by side with those future changes, all the actual points in a new app, for example "X-wing 2.0 Legacy Designer", like you kept 1.0 Designer ?
Because everyone who wants to play with actual rules, must play with actual points.
A lot of people are asking for that ;) That can surely help you to gain patreon for a little investment ! (it's barely just keep a copy of the actual 2.0 squadbuilder before the next massive update from AMG)

Hi! My plan is to keep up with the official changes to the game... if the changes are not that big that need a complete app overhaul.
DeleteIn any case, I will keep the version of the app previous to that change published, just in case some users want to keep with that version instead of going with the changes. But I don't plan to maintain that app.
That said, let's see how deep are the changes...

DeleteAMG won't support the old format too, so there is no maintenance, just maybe add the very last FFG expansions (Razorcrest + Gauntlet).
The changes will be deep, that's why if we want to continue to play with the actual rules or another way to determine the player order, as long it's before the dials, we have to keep the actual balance (ships and upgrade points) of the game.
If your worries are borne by ROAD (Random Order After Dials), I'd advise you to read this article (https://stayontheleader.blogspot.com/2021/11/the-road-warrior.html), and foremost, try it for yourself.
DeleteUnless you are a diehard aces player with a high bid, and trust your ability to go last every turn to win you most games, I think this change is for the best...
In any case I think this has little to do with the app. AMG will keep making adjustments to the points, and releasing new products (at least I hope so) and it will be a shame to remain with the old ones because you won't update the app.
In the worst case, if I were you, I would keep with the changes to points, cards and new expansions, but no one is forbidding your play group from keeping with the old Player Order...or avoiding any other changes you don't like.

I don't think the new rules won't be fully playable until 1-2 years, the changes are deep. they will need a lot of try and balance. And also don't expect new ships until 18-24 month ;) AMG will only release cards pack and reprint older ships.
Until that moment I'm pretty sure that that the game and the community will live with both rules.

DeleteBy incomplete, you mean that the text for these upgrades dow not show the effect of the detonation? I'll fix it. In the meantime you can check its effect by showing the image of the upgrade and then tapping on the image. An image with the effects of the device/missile will show.
